If people want their Facebook pages to be located, they must being using search engine optimization within the site. It simply starts with grabbing a vanity URL. Users must also utilize content with related targeted keywords in their “about box.” This area is found just under their profile picture on a Facebook homepage.

According to Nick O'Neill, the mysterious box which is located at the top left of the Facebook page is one of the few areas on the page which search engine-friendly. He further stated that it is relatively high up in the page HTML which entails that every search engine especially the major ones will give the text priority over that which is way down the page. “Always grab the best chance to fill the “about box” with rich keyword content,” he added.

Having a relevant content on Facebook may be more important as it recently rolled out its latest real-time search function that allows every user to search not only the content of their friends' pages but also of those who make their pages public.
